Earl Latchley

Earl Latchley is a commercial real estate attorney whose practice encompasses a broad range of transactional, operational, and development matters for institutional owners, investors, and developers.

With more than a decade of experience, Earl focuses on negotiations and preparation of office and retail leases, purchase and sale agreements, development documents, and commercial contracts involving office, retail, multifamily, and mixed-use assets. He is recognized for his business-oriented approach, attention to detail, and ability to identify practical solutions that advance client objectives while ensuring legal compliance.

Prior to joining Wilson Cribbs + Goren, Earl served as Vice President and Counsel at Brookfield Properties, where he provided legal support for office and retail portfolios, and negotiated and closed a wide range of high-profile office and retail lease transactions with major corporate tenants and national retailers across multiple markets. Earl also advised business teams on design and construction issues, and ongoing operational needs. His role included overseeing tenant disputes and litigation management, evaluating risk, coordinating with outside counsel, and supporting senior leadership on strategic initiatives.

Before his time at Brookfield, Earl practiced in the real estate group at Jackson Walker LLP, where he represented institutional landlords, developers, and investors in acquisitions, dispositions, and lease negotiations for major office, retail, industrial, and mixed-use projects. His early experience provided a strong foundation in large-scale commercial transactions and strengthened his understanding of the full lifecycle of real estate assets.

Earl earned his J.D. from Thurgood Marshall School of Law, where he graduated as Salutatorian and received the Thurgood Marshall Scholarship. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from the University of Houston, a background that contributes to his strong communication skills and collaborative working style. Earl is an active member of the Houston Bar Association’s Real Estate Section and is committed to giving back to the community through volunteer work with organizations such as Kids’ Meals, Houston Food Bank, and St. Jude’s fundraisers.
